Delete your data
Rupa keeps very little in the cloud, and photos never stay on Rupa’s servers longer than 24 hours. You can still delete everything we hold about your installation at any time. If Apple’s DeviceCheck is briefly unavailable, we keep only the device’s free-edit count (no photos, no app ID) for up to 7 days until Apple confirms it.
What is stored in the cloud
- Photos you sent to a cloud AI tool and their results, only until the result is downloaded and never longer than 24 hours.
- Your anonymous app ID and its settings record (language, app version, consent date, push token).
- Short technical records of your cloud edits (without photos) and your edit counts.
- If you subscribed: the link between your anonymous ID and your Rupa Plus subscription.
Edits and history from on-device tools are stored only on your iPhone, never in the cloud.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open Rupa and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my cloud data and confirm.
This immediately deletes your anonymous ID record, all your cloud edit records, any photos or results still on our servers, and unlinks your subscription from this installation. Your photos and edits on the iPhone are not affected.
Option 2: by email
Email dimonzalis@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my data”. Rupa has no accounts, so to find your data please include the Support ID shown in Rupa’s Settings. If you no longer have the app but had a subscription, include the Apple order ID from your App Store receipt email instead. We confirm the deletion within 15 days.
Good to know
- Your subscription continues. Deleting data does not cancel Rupa Plus, which is managed by Apple. To cancel, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone. To keep using Plus after deleting your data, tap Restore Purchases in Rupa.
- Free edits are not reset. The count of free cloud edits used on your iPhone is stored with Apple’s DeviceCheck as two bits per device, without any personal data, so deleting data does not give the device new free edits. If Apple cannot be reached at that moment, we keep just that count and a device token from Apple for up to 7 days to finish saving it, then delete them.
- What we keep. Records that are needed for billing, tax or the law (for example Apple transaction data for a subscription) are kept only as long as required and are no longer linked to your app ID. Totals without any ID (for example the number of edits per day) are kept for statistics.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and usage statistics are not linked to your app ID. Google keeps them for a limited time under Firebase’s retention settings.
- AI partners. Delete my cloud data cannot remove copies that our AI partners keep under their own terms, for example Google for up to 55 days for AI change, to prevent abuse. We have not yet been able to confirm how long Bria AI keeps Object remover photos. See the Privacy Policy.
- Deleting the app removes everything Rupa stored on your iPhone. Cloud photos are deleted within 24 hours anyway; to remove the rest, use Option 1 before deleting the app, or Option 2.
